Is ginger good for acid reflux?

Usually well tolerated

Ginger is often used for nausea, and small amounts are usually well tolerated. There is little direct evidence that it treats reflux, and large amounts can cause heartburn in some people.

Tips

  • Use it fresh in cooking or as a weak tea.

Is it a trigger for you?

Reactions vary a lot between people. Log ginger in the symptom diary for two weeks: it shows how often each food is followed by symptoms. Then try two weeks without it and compare.
