Does honey help acid reflux?

Usually well tolerated

Honey is not acidic and is rarely a trigger, though there is little evidence that it treats reflux.

Tips

  • A little honey in chamomile tea is a pleasant swap for mint tea.

Is it a trigger for you?

Reactions vary a lot between people. Log honey in the symptom diary for two weeks: it shows how often each food is followed by symptoms. Then try two weeks without it and compare.
